Curriculum
BISAK is divided into two schools, each with its own Head Teacher:
- Primary School
Head: Mrs. Angela Gunn - Secondary School
Deputy Head: Mr Richard McMahon
All students follow the UK ( England) National Curriculum which provides a broad range of subjects including:
Arabic (optional) History Art and Design Information and Communications Technology Design and Technology Mathematics English Music and Drama (Performing Arts) French (from Year 3) Physical Education Geography Science The total curriculum is divided into key stages. At BISAK, we presently offer the first 4 key stages, together with the foundation stage:-
- Foundation stage: pre-school + reception
- Key stage 1: year 1 and 2
- Key stage 2: years 3 to 6
- Key stage 3: years 7 to 9
- Key stage 4: year 10
In the Foundation Stage, Key Stage1 and Key Stage 2 the class teacher is responsible for much of the teaching; several subjects are, however, taught by specialist teachers.
In Key Stage 3 ( and Key Stage 4 in due course) all subjects are specialist taught.
The Key Stage 4 curriculum will be divided between a compulsary element, comprising English, Mathematics, Science and ICT together with an optional section selected by students from a range of subjects.
