After School Clubs
Students at BISAK enjoy many specialist facilities in the school such as information and communication technology laboratories, design and food technology rooms, an art and design room equipped with pottery facilities, a science laboratory, 2 libraries, 2 performing arts rooms and separate halls for performing arts and sports. The school also has daily access to a large swimming pool, and offers swimming as a life skill to all students from year 1 upwards.
BISAK beliefs that each student has the maximum opportunity to develop socially, aesthetically and spiritually. As such, we try to provide as many outside activities as possible. Extra-curricular activities start at 1315 daily. Sports activities include football, softball spinning, circuit training, karate, badminton. BISAK also offers a computer club and a computer games club. There is also a variety of creative opportunities involving, for example, performing and visual arts. Our annual sports days, swimming galas, and other tournaments, productions and exhibitions are designed for maximum, and in many cases, total participation. Older students can also engage in public speaking competitions, poetry competitions, and some instrument tuition is available. We also involve the school community each year in focused fund-raising for designated charities, and the school has close links with the World Wide Fund for Nature, the Save The Children Appeal and with the improving and developing of a school in northern Ghana (see page Global Awareness Project).
All of these activities are designed to give children the chance to develop their social skills and to enhance their sensitivities to the needs of others, be it by teamwork or by fund-raising.
